About Coach

I have been around sports my entire life! I played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track in High school, and I played Division II college basketball after that. Once college was done, I struggled to find consistency and routine in my personal health, especially as I started working full time, got married, pursued my masters degree, and then had 4 kids in 8 years! I would lift weights consistently, but overall fitness was pretty elusive in those days! In 2018 I met Anthony Davis, a CrossFit games competitor, and he put me through my first CrossFit workout. I was laying on the ground afterwards, trying not to die, and thought to myself, "What was that? I've got to do that again!" For a few years I was the guy at the YMCA doing burpee box jumps, then in 2021 I won a free year's membership to CrossFit Southpaw, and I was all in on CrossFit! After a year of doing the methodology consistently in the gym, I was invited to come on to the coaching staff - so in January 2021, I started my coaching journey, and I'm so glad I did! I completed my Level 2 certification in November 2024, and I'm excited to see where my coaching journey continues to take me.

Turning Point

Motivation & Passion

I firmly believe in the ability of the CrossFit methodology to change people's lives. Functional movement, variance, and relative intensity are the perfect ingredients for anyone to be physical and mentally prepared for whatever life will challenge you with. I LOVE watching people accomplish things that they never though possible, and give their families the gift of their own health and wellness.
